New Looks: British fashion label Karen Millen opens its first South African store in Sandton City
What keeps fashion-savvy consumers focused and inspired to shop is the arrival of a new collection or brand. And we have both with the debut of British label Karen Millen.
Calling Sandton City home, the Joburg store promises ample shopping opportunities. The British label is all about fashion-forward designs with a luxe appeal. Launched in 1981, it celebrates the modern, fashion-savvy woman with collections of wearable separates. With an emphasis on fit, the collections use quality fabrics and deliver trend-right yet timeless buys.
From voluminous to fitted, print-rich and embellished, the Karen Millen fashion brand is based in London. Headed by Gemma Metheringham, it comprises wardrobe buys ranging from footwear to accessories and, of course, apparel. South African consumers now get to experience the brand in its entirety as all the lines are available in the Sandton City store. According to the House of Busby, shoppers will be treated to new additions each week.
With flagship stores in the fashion capitals of the world (including New York, Paris, Madrid, and Joburg, too), the brand is expanding its global appeal thanks to its contemporary design aesthetic. Loved by style mavens around the world, the spring/summer 2013 campaign is headlined by Amber Le Bon (daughter of supermodel Yasmin and Duran Duran vocalist Simon Le Bon). We’ve spotted some of the finest and fashion-forward little black dresses (in various silhouettes and textures), divine trench coats and covetable accessories already. To see the collection, visit Karen Millen, shop U11, in Joburg's Sandton City.
