Tim Souter has been a partner at Ethos since March 2018, having joined Ethos as an associate in July 2011. Since joining Ethos, Tim has been involved in the execution of Kevro; the first investment in Fund VI; and its subsequent sale in 2017. Together with Ngalaah Chuphi, he also worked on Ethos' investment into Eaton Towers, a leading pan-African, independent provider of shared telecom towers. Tim currently holds the deal-lead responsibility on Twinsaver, an investment which was made in March 2015. Tim also assisted with the disposal of Brandcorp, while acting as a director of the company.
Tim serves on the boards of Twinsaver and Eaton.
Prior to joining Ethos, Tim worked as a VP in the Corporate Advisory business at Macquarie. His responsibilities included coverage and execution of Mergers and Acquisitions in the TMT (telco, media and technology) sector, as well as execution across the broader industrial and property sectors. Tim spent time in the US with the Macquarie Group, at which time he was focused on proprietary opportunities in the industrials sector.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Business Science with honours in Finance, and majors in Accounting and Economics, from the University of Cape Town. He also holds a Master of Finance degree from INSEAD and is a CFA charter holder.
